My Twitter alerts or SMS text messages stopped working.
Sometimes there is a glitch in the delivery between your phone and Twitter's service. Sometimes it's due to a disruption in cell service in your area, a glitch in the local network system, or a problem with your phone. Here are several options to try to resolve the issue: First, try restarting your phone. This simple fix has worked for other users who have had the same issue. After a restart, they've received the next alerts that were issued. Second, there is a lot of helpful information on Twitter's SMS Troubleshooting Page. On that page it says how to stop and restart your alert service. We recommend starting there, and here's how to do that: Text STOP twice in succession to 40404. This will delete your follower list and remove your phone number from Twitter. You will no longer receive updates from us. You then need to restart the service. To restart, you need to text: follow wandererfinance to 40404. Once you do this, you should start receiving updates again! Third, for the most reliable service, we recommend that you follow us directly on twitter and enable notifications. This requires a Twitter account. You can read how easy it is to sign up by clicking this link. If you continue to have trouble, here's a direct link to Twitter's help page on this topic that contains a "contact support" option at the bottom. Lastly, Twitter's help page specifically says, "If you’re experiencing a delay receiving Twitter SMS text message updates to your phone, this is most often due to heavy traffic on your carrier's network. This issue usually resolves itself after a while."
